Two weeks after our arrival at Action Art within the European Solidarity Corps, we found ourselves in quarantine with my 25 roommates. Obviously, at 25 brains, we were going to find occupations. Alternating between games, films, sports or yoga workshops, lunch on the rooftop of the house, help in a dog shelter or walks in the mountains, it was not so difficult to handle. Greek flora is full of surprises too. I highly recommend camping in Halkidiki, an experience I would love to do again every time I come! It was really special for me because I created very strong bonds with all the volunteers, and I now feel that I have friends all over the world.
Thanks to my volunteering project with Action Art, I was able for 9 months to put another foot in the professional world, through the collective organization of remote work, the creation of fun educational programs, the enriching contact with families. local, and with the partners of the association that I was able to meet. I also expanded my culture in art history through all the painters that we introduce to children during workshops!
In addition, I really deepened my English and learned a lot about myself and others, discovering people from different professional and social backgrounds. That’s why I also learned to open my mind more!
I have learned a lot from each of the people I have met. I think it was the most intense and rewarding experience I have lived so far, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to take a break from their studies and who wants to discover another culture, a another way of working and why not another field of work.
